I reiterate this a couple times a year but yes a great deal of this show has been actually funny for the last couple of years because it hasn’t involved anyone from “Family Guy” since TBS bought it. Its ever-changing pool of younger writers are all evidently from the Spongebob Tumblr Shitpost side of human culture and it just doesn’t do mean edgy stuff anymore. The ENTIRE PREMISE it began with is even just completely gone. Stan isn’t a parody of conservatives anymore but just kind of a naive himbo who gets along just fine with his hippie liberal daughter.
Some episodes are just meandering duds but good ones have included Francine adopting psychic parasitic frogs as her new family, Stan recreating “Little Shop of Horrors” with a singing murderous hot tub, a supernatural Guy Fieri attempting to groom Jeff into the next Guy Fieri, and a story drawn out over multiple Christmas specials in which we learn that Santa Claus is real, but his holiday duties are part of an eternal punishment he seeks to escape by reawakening Humbaba from the Epic of Gilgamesh. All of these are literal description that I didn’t mistype.
